Actually Wally, that is a misconception. You can trade them to friends. But they aren't tradeable over the GTS.

Hmmm...Really? I don't do a lot of trading and wi-fi events, so I don't really know. That's for clearing that up I guess. I'll wait awhile, they'l probadly appear in the Event Pokemon section over in the Lancemall.

In the Lance Mall, I think Rusty and Zelos are giving out the Japanese Legendary Beasts. Unless you specifically want an English one.

Merc, the Masuda Method only works with Pokemon of different nationalities... For example, you would need something like an English Tepig and a Japanese Tepig/Ditto

no the game detects if the pokemon came from the SAME GAME as yours, it doesnt matter the country

The country matters if it is truly Masuda Method that you're trying to do

Sorry Merc, I have to side on PW's side on this one. It is based off "game ID". Anyone with an English European version (UK) can trade to someone in Europe (say to someone in the Netherlands) and it won't work as they originally have the same game ID. However, it works for US and UK games. So have one parent from UK/US/JAP and one from another.

I could be wrong though, this is just my understanding of the method, although I don't use it, so that too could be misinterpreted.
